Study of Binary Artificial Bee Colony Algorithm Based on Particle Swarm Optimization

Inspired by particle swarm optimization (PSO) algorithm, a binary artificial bee colony algorithm (BABC) based on PSO was proposed. In the proposed algorithm, global best parameter was incorporated into BABC algorithm, which makes the exploitation capacity improved and convergence speed quickened. At the same time, in order to maintain the population diversity, the bit mutation operator was accepted for the proposed algorithm. The 0-1 knapsack simulation results show that, compared with the traditional BABC algorithm, the proposed algorithm’s optimization ability is enhanced and its convergence speed is improved obviously.
